Each business sees the tax system and money of its own country

An Omani business now keeps a VAT return and a tax invoice instead of Iran’s Moadian, and invoice amounts and payment modes follow the currency the business charges in.

What changed

The panel used to decide Iran-only tools from the reader’s language. A business in Muscat whose owner reads Persian still saw Tax system (Moadian), Holoo, Sayad and the Iranian shops. Those now follow the business’s country (and its currency when the country is still empty). Records already filed stay on file; changing country only hides the screens and says so.

Value added tax for an Omani business: the return boxes and the note that e-invoicing is not connected

  • Oman gets Value added tax: a VAT return (standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt, input VAT, net payable), a bilingual tax invoice, and the VATIN and commercial registration the invoice prints. E-invoicing is not connected; the page says so and sends nothing.
  • Saudi Arabia and the UAE get the same return shape, with a note that ZATCA Fatoora and FTA e-invoicing are not connected. Bahrain’s standard rate is 10%. Kuwait and Qatar are not given an invented rate.
  • Iran keeps Moadian, Holoo, Sayad, the Iranian channels and shops. Other countries download the journal as CSV, plus a QuickBooks journal and a Xero manual journal. Cheques stay; the Sayad check does not.
  • Money fields say the business’s currency. An amount typed in Omani rial is stored in dollars, the way every price in the books is stored.
  • Payment mode is a searchable list that already contains cash, bank transfer, card and cheque. The last row adds a new mode, when your seat may change the books, and selects it.

How to use it

  1. Open Accounting, then Books. A business outside Iran sees Journal (CSV), QuickBooks journal (CSV) and Xero manual journal (CSV). Iran still sees Journal for Holoo / Sepidar (CSV).
  2. Open Accounting, then Value added tax. Save the VAT identification number, commercial registration and legal name, and read the month’s return. Print tax invoice from an invoice when you need the customer’s copy.
  3. Open Invoices, open an invoice, and record the payment in the currency shown beside Amount. Open Payment mode, search, or choose Add payment mode, fill the name and type, and save. The new mode is selected.

Good to know

  • A business with no country and no currency that names one still sees every screen it saw before.
  • Hiding a screen does not delete what was already filed there. Changing the country names what will be hidden.
  • Adding a payment mode or a tax rate needs a seat that may change the books. Anyone who can read invoices still picks from the list.
  • Default payment modes appear only when the business has none. The country’s VAT rate is added only when it has a standard rate and no tax of its own.
